Hey everyone! I am a past participant of the Summer III program at Mayo Clinic Rochester. This is a wonderful program to participate in, and I am available to answer any questions that you may have about this process moving forward!

Yo! Thank you so much for starting this thread! To get the ball rollin’, I have a couple of super duper general questions about your experience.
1.) What is one of your favorite clinical stories or “Mayo Moments” from your Summer?
2.) What do you wish someone had told you during your application process and/or what was something that helped you as you were applying? (resume tips or essay advice, general ideas or advice)
Thank you so much again for reachin’ out to us!

Hey! I'm so sorry for not answering sooner! School has been crazy! I think for sure some of my most memorable moments were actually how well the program treats their Summer IIIs. You have multiple little "surprises" throughout your time there and you will get clinical and career "benefits" from being a Summer III. I don't want to go into this very deep because I'm not sure about the privacy aspect of that! Also, the internship taught me how important collaboration is. Mayo does an excellent job including everyone on the care team in the aspect of patient care. That was probably a big "mayo moment" for me because the level of collaboration, as well as interdisciplinary care that they use is unheard of!
As far as tips, I think that they really like to see that you fit in well at mayo. So my biggest tip for applicants would be to relate yourself back to mayo's values and mission statement and use those to guide yourself in the application process. Show that you also embody those same values! Additionally, something they told us along the way was that if you've done it, put it on your resume. They aren't like other hospitals who will throw out your application because your resume is too long or too wordy. My resume was three pages long!

Hi there! Thanks for starting this thread :)
I was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes for the final decisions to finish rolling out
I've heard some several people that they were selected as alternates yesterday, but I have not heard anything back myself.
thanks all!

Yes! I remember on the application it said, “ the week of.” So I’m sure they’ll still be sending news out for the rest of this week. Also, don’t be surprised if it carries over into next week. There could have been thousands of applicants.

Hello, just a reminder of the Terms of Service:
There are two approved ways to create a special place for your cohort.
One: create a facebook page. This link may be posted.
Two: create a "club" for your cohort by clicking on the Breakroom link in the yellow bar to the left of this page. Then click on “Create A New Club” in the green bar at the top of the page, and follow instructions.
References to other than these two avenues will be moved from view, to comply with the Terms of Service.
Thank you, and congratulations on your acceptance and the next step in your Nursing journey!

Hi,
I submitted my application and it says it's still in review so does that mean I wasn't accepted into the Summer III program? They said they'd reach out with offers at the beginning of February so I'd assume so?
