Maternity & PEDS class PLEASE HELP!!!!

Published

Hi! I'm in the last semester of my LPN program and I'm currently taking a Maternal child nursing class. I have failed the first 2 exams and I have felt extremely prepared for both. I have NO idea what else i can do to help me pass! I read the power points and my professors notes, read the chapters in the book, and watch any youtube video I can to visually see what we are learning about. I have also talked to my professor and she told me "its not uncommon for students to fail her first 3 exams". I can't afford to fail, I'm so close to graduating. Any advice and tips/tricks to passing Maternity & PEDS would be greatly appreciated! THANK YOU!! :)

I am in the ADN program, fourth semester and I couldn't connect with OB. I did not do so great on those tests. Peds is so much better I am passing those test, it seems more like med surg but you have to tweak it some because it's care for a child. For me OB was difficult because you are taking care of two people and what you do to mom affects baby and what you do to baby affects mom. I had a baby so I thought this was going to be a no brainer. All I can tell you is try a new study plan and keep pushing to the end.Do a lot of practice nclex questions daily. Find out who in your class got A's on their test and study with them if you can, that helped me a lot. Good luck you can do it, do what ever it takes to make it to graduation.

Maybe you need to pick up and or borrow an nclex book that has maternity & peds questions such as exam cram and or Lippincotts nclex review pn good luck.
