So I am in the market to get a new stethoscope since I lost my old one at the hospital I was doing clinicals at. My question is, which one is better to get: the Master Classic II or the Classic II SE? I used to have the Classic II SE (that's the one I lost). I want to get one that you can hear well with. I was reading some posts before and it said the two major differences between the two are that the Classic II has a seperate bell and diaphragm while it's combined in the Master Classic II. So is there any difference in the quality of the two stethoscopes? I thought when I was trying the Master Classic out in a scrubs store that it had better acoustics than my Classic II. Is that true? I'm so torn over whether or not to stick with the one I had or get a better one (I will graduate in May 2010, and I work on a telemetry floor where listening for heart and lung sounds is important). I would be willing to spend a little more if the Master Classic is significantly better than the Classic II. Please help!!! :)

As you already found out, the master classic II is more superior compared to the classic II. It is a heavier stethoscope and according to Littmann, rates higher than the Classic II. With either one, you will get a good quality stethoscope.
