New Grad postions in the greater boston area

U.S.A. Massachusetts

I am curious as to where new grads are getting jobs in MA? I am having a tough time finding a postion as a new grad with no experience. I have sent in a number of resumes but no replies. I hit HR at a few places but no luck. My RN program lacked career services. I expected the search to be much easier.

Thanks

I scoped out their website. I emailed the HR person about the new grad program, the website did not give much info. It is a 20 mile drive from my house, I was trying to avoid a long commute but if worse comes to worse I might have to have to.

how long have you been searching for a job?? as for me, it's been 4 months now and still no luck... did you put your past experience in your resume??? i do not have any hospital experience so i'm wondering if it would be better if we take out our past experience off the resume...i don't know.. it's just frustrating waiting around for a job..

I passed my NCLEX in Aug. I started looking in July. I've really started seriously last month. I have no other healthcare experience besides clinicals. I have some resturant work, volunteering, and tutuoring that apply to nursing so I do put them on. I just assumed that I could walk out apply and boom I have a job. Our school lacked career services, which is not helping the situation either.

maybe go to a healthcare fare??

I am going Monday to a nursing fair. I have not attended on before, so not too sure what to expect.

Specializes in Neuro, NICU.

I graduated in May, passed my boards in June. I applied for a position in mid-August with BIDMC in Boston (down near Fenway) - I had a baby in July, so I decided to wait to apply anywhere. I interviewed and was offered a position within a week of contacting HR. I'm on of 5 from my graduating class that is working at that facility.

They're great to deal with and very supportive.

Specializes in Med-Surg, Psych.

Mermette,

Does BIDMC require a BSN or 1+ year experience?

Nursing fair did not go to well. Handed out quite a few resumes. Nobody seems to be hiring new grads. Most told me they did the hiring in June.

TRY NEW ENGLAND BAPTIST... They have a special program for new grads.

Good Luck :rotfl:
