Hello, everyone:

I just passed my NCLEX RN and felt so happy. From next week, I will start to look for jobs. I have heard that the market doesn't look good and it's hard to find a position in hospitals in town. I have no idea what to start. Anybody can give me guidance where to start, I would be greatly appreciate any of your advice. Thank you in advance!

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

my suggestion would be approach the hospitals and see for yourself if it is hard or not, hearsay isn't always right.

Well, I can tell you from first hand experience that the job market for new graduates is very very small. If you didn't go to a big ticket school in Boston and get your BSN, than you will find the Boston job market almost impossible to break into. There is NO nursing shortage in Boston for new graduates. Experienced nurses, maybe.

It pays to know someone on the inside who can get you an interview. My best advice would be to contact anyone you know who works at a hospital to see if they can get you in with Human Resources or the Director of Nursing.

Best of luck.
