Help!!!which has a better program bowie or howard???

Hi Kirsten,

I know several nurses that went to Bowie State and they loved the program. They all got jobs right away and had a good experience. I will be returning to bowie as a 2nd degree student in nursing this Fall!!! :yeah:

Based on the things I heard about Howard and peoples experiences with classes and professors I wouldn't even think about applying there. I couldnt even find info about the program on their website... In all fairness, I have heard that they have been making improvements, but I'm not willing to risk it.

Hi. I am interested in Bowie's nursing program, but I have been calling and calling and no one answers. I am a 2nd degree student as well, but I work a full-time job (9-5) do they offer evening classes? Will you be enrolled in the accelerated program? Do you know anything about Coppin State's program?

I think the program they have for 2nd degree students is accelerated.. So it will be full-time for a little under 2 years. When they get really busy they just let the phone go to voicemail :rolleyes:

In the 1st place from my experience pls don't make this school ur 1st choice b/c their undergrad admission office sucks they loose ur transcript 10 times before they finally claim that you sent it.

I mean things r totally redicioulous let me tell u something the admission will send denial letter and the nursing dept is gonna send u acceptance letter that is how much of a mess they are.

When u try to talk to the dean about all the thing that goes on the admission office nobody seems to actually care or even listen to students. They will just tell u the President/dean is too busy at the moment and they will let u talk to some assistant who is going to tell u the same exact mess the admission office has been telling you.

After all you give up about Howard and u leave them alone month after the nursing program starts they start emailing you saying pls disregard our email we sent u about ur acceptance that was an error. I MEAN COME ON EVERYTHING THEY DO IS AN ERROR! COME ON THE SCHOOL GOT TO BE A LITTLE MORE PROFESSIONAL THAN THIS THEY ALREADY HAVE BAD NAME OUT THERE EVERYONE WHO HAS ANY CONTACT WITH THAT SCHOOL ALREADY KNOWS THAT UNDER GRAD ADMISSION OFFICE IS FALLING APART!!

That school is really falling apart save ur money and try someother school trust me it's not worth the hussel that u have to go through that office and at the end they will lost ur stuff u will be out of luck and fraustrated!!

and also one last thing I forgot to mention to you....when what happens to me happens to you u will be thanking this comment and wishing I wish I didn't plant all this hope on Howard University Nursing program if u really really want to apply there get ready to be resending transcripts multiples times and get ready to be send recommendation letter zillions of times trust me u send it certified mail they will still claim that they never received it and guess what Upson has to tell u at the end if u want us to consider this school keep sending it and trust me it's waste of money. What are they there is no 5 yr old working in that office I thought they r all grown up enough not to trash peoples documents all the time it's not just 1 or 2 students it was 10 of my friends that we applied and all of us had the same issues documents been missed even after they claim they got it u call gthe next day to check they will go which recommendation?? or where is ur transcipt?? It's amazing just get ready to fraustrate urself!! This is just a heads up trust me it's going to happen!!

I don't know why that school can't make real changes and change the whole admission office (undergrad) the people that work there because they r the once that made it to me this way and the school lets this to go on and on they never listen to students....SAVE UR TIME AND APPLY ELSE WHERE!! NOT WORTHED TO DEAL WITH THEM!!

U know what other school admission office actually calls and emails u and follows up with you this HOWARD UNIVERSITY UNDER GRAD ADMISSION OFFICE DOES THE EXACT OPPOSITE!! They have really broken the record this year!
