Maricopa CEP Summer 2022

Published

I have been checking these threads for months and haven't seen anyone start one for the Maricopa CEP program to start in Summer in 2022. Applications are going to open up in December and I'm nervous and hoping to get some comfort in talking to others who are going to be applying soon!! So, here is a thread for anyone who's also been searching for one!

Hey Alaina, I too have been checking to see if anyone would start a thread for this upcoming application period. First and foremost, thank you for taking the initiative, and getting the thread started on behalf of us lurkers :) I totally relate to your nervousness, and would like to talk to others as well about where they are at as far as the application process goes. As for me, I am done with all of my prerequisites (took them a few years ago), I am in the process of taking my HESI A2. It's crazy to think that December is right around the corner!! But yeah, hopefully others are comfortable enough to post (even a simple hello would suffice). Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.

Hi! Thank you for making this thread. I too have been spying on this site seeing if one was made yet.

I’m applying this December as well I am so nervous! I’ve been taking my prerequisites for the last couple of years and feels like what I’ve been working towards is all coming so fast now!

what schools are you planning on applying too? Do you have any idea how many points you will have?

I took my HESI already and am finishing up my last class I think I’m going to get an A in so I believe I will have 82 points applying to ASU. I’m going to try for PVCC and SCC.

my HESI score was 94 for math and 88 for English

my GPA will be 3.71 applying for ASU

Please share your scores of comfortable!

Hope it’s enough to get in!

Hi again! I'm not applying until my final grades are posted for this semester but it is still so nerve wracking that they opened today! I'm still deciding between NAU and ASU and my scores vary slightly.

HESI English: 91.33% Rubric points: 31.9655

HESI Math: 94% Rubric points: 14.1

GPA NAU: 3.25 Rubric points: 32.5

GPA ASU: 3.269 Rubric points: 32.69

Previous Associates Degree: 2.5 points

NAU Score: 81.0655

ASU Score: 81.255

Obviously not super confident about my scores and extremely nervous!

My choices for community colleges will be EMCC, GCC, and possibly Phoenix college. Please reply with your scores if you're comfortable, there's usually a lot more discussion before intakes so this is making me even more nervous!

Hey everyone,

I, too, have been waiting for this thread (thanks Alaina ?). It is so surreal that the time to apply is finally here. Just waiting for the last class to post. So many mixed feelings about this process (nervous, anxious, excited)!

HESI English 93 (32.66)

HESI Math 96 (14.4)

GPA 3.9  (39)

No prior degree

Total rubric points 86 pts

Choices for school: EMCC, Glendale Traditional, Glendale Weekend-Ottawa or ASU (haven't decided)

I'm very curious to see what the intake numbers look like this round!

Hi! Your points are really high so I’m sure whichever school you choose you’ll get accepted into! I’m curious to see how many people are applying because these threads are normally way more active around this time, hopefully not a lot so maybe my score will have a chance haha

Hi Everyone! I moved to AZ just last year from Oregon (just when I was ready to apply to a nursing program there and would have most likely gotten in because I had tailored all my prerequisites and volunteering to that program, LOL). I’ve spent the last year retaking a class and sorting out my school details (transferring from quarter schools to semester schools is a headache) and now I’m getting ready to apply to the CEP (I’m currently taking an accelerated pathophysiology class that is supposed to finish January 29 so hopefully it will be on my transcript in time to use on my application—if not, do any of you know if I can apply with the class finished but not yet on my transcript?).

Here’s my question: what university should I apply to? Any opinions?

I don’t particularly want GCU, but I am still considering all of the others. I live in Tempe so I thought it might be nice to be an ASU student (I know the classes are mostly online, but at least I’d have access to the library and other student resources near me, right?), but otherwise I don’t really have an opinion. I’ve read the brochures but I’m not really seeing anything that is swaying me one way or another (I wish we could just apply to multiple). Is it true that it’s really the community colleges who decide if you’re in? My advisor didn’t say anything about that. I’m happy to tell you more about myself if it would help; I just don’t know which uni would be a good fit.

Hi!! I don’t know a lot only what I’ve heard from current CEP students, advisors, and these forums, but from what I hear the university accepts you if you meet requirements. The community college is where the competition is between scores. The community colleges have limited seating for each intake which is why it’s competitive. NAU(from what I’ve been told) has a semester start before everyone else that’s partially in person, which could be good or bad depending on how you look at it. The students that took it said that they felt better prepared than other students in their cohort enrolled in a different university. Other than that it’s all dependent on how you feel about prices, and which school gives you a better rubric score for the application. Like in my situation above, ASU would give me a higher rubric score so for me it’s smarter to apply there. I also believe GCU is one of the schools that finishes university courses one semester after the community college courses end, And they do not go by a consortium agreement with the cc so the financial aspect would be very different there. Thank you for responding to this chat I hope I helped a little!

Hi everyone!

I am applying for the Fall 2022 program at GCC and ASU. Is anyone else applying there or does anyone have any experience applying to those locations? When did you hear back? I just applied today and am very impatient LOL!

GPA 3.9

HESI MATH - 96%
HESI ENG - 93%
Bachelors degree

= 91 points

Hello everyone,

I just submitted my application for MCC and NAU. My HESI scores are not that good, so I was not going to apply this round. My advisor told me I could apply since I only have one class left that I will be taking I the Spring. Im looking at 80 or 81 points I think. If I don’t get in this round, I’m just going to have to redo the HESI. Is anyone here applying to NAU? I wish everyone one here good luck!!

We won't hear back until after the application period is over. The school site says somewhere around 2/21/2022.

Thanks for your help. I ended up deciding on ASU (for various reasons) and I'm just about ready to submit my CEP application. I'll post separately with my scores and info in case others are interested.
