Hello All
My friend is moving to Houston, Texas for a new job and he asked me about choosing different utilities in the Houston, Texas area.
I know nothing about gas, electric, water, cable in Houston (currently stationed in San Antonio)
Which electric, gas, cable and water company(ies) do y'all use? Any helpful hints or suggestions on how to find the right utilitiy company? Any websites that Gil can go to?
Thank you
athena

Gas is Centerpoint.
Electric service is maintained by Centerpoint, but the provider is up to you (go to Powertochoose.org to find providers for the zip code).
Water depends on where you live. In cities it is the City that provides water, in the county is is usually a Municipal Utility District (MUD) or well water if rural.
Comcast is the cable in the area, but you also have (mostly) ATT for phone or internet with their "cable" service also.
If in an apartment, contact them for info. Find out exactly where they will be can help with more specifics. If buying/renting a house, talk to the realator, they can give you the info.
Nalon1: Thank you for responding. I have sent the information to him. :)
