This is hilarious. As a student, I don't know how I'll initially react to my first encounter with the bodily functions of strangers but I do know that I'll get over it. Nursing is what I want to do & I'm not gonna quit over some poo.

I had a girl drop out of my CNA class too.

I was like "Did you not read the job description before enrolling? Its quite clear what our job is."

I think that was probably a hurtful experience for a resident. How would you feel if you couldnt help yourself, and made a mess? She/He is probably already feeling embarrassed, then Mr. Macho pulls that crap? Grrrrrr....

If I were you, I wouldn't have been so immature about it. Everyone has a weak spot. Unfortunately, that was his. You will find yours at clinical eventually. How would you feel if you were berated for grossing out? Remember compassion? Apply it!

Eh I can't argue with that you are of course correct...but still it was the funniest thing I had seen in a long while it couldn't be helped. Having been through 2 wars, I doubt I will see anything that will gross me out though but I understand the comment. I guess you had to be there *shrug*

I don't find this amusing or funny. Just because he was dressed a certain way you automatically though of him as a "stud"? You sound like you feel superior because you have a higher threshold for dealing with feces and I'm not quite sure if that's a good thing. When I first started I could not even see stool without puking and gagging but I've learned to deal with it, maybe that's what he was going through? Either way please grow up.

My apologies to the humor-impaired.

I do find It funny, but i also wonder how I will deal with "code brown" when i am faced with it for the first time. I have a pretty weak stomach, but my hard work will not be overshadowed by caca. You said two wars? Thank you for your service! I have 2 brothers that have been deployed, one brother went 3 times, the other once. I am forever grateful for yall's sacrifice.

I actually find it hilarious and I wish to thank you OP because this nurse of almost 20 years needed a laugh badly today.

Ignore the offended comments.

This is too funny only because he sounded like a pompus a**. Nursing is not for everyone. I myself am a little concerned about getting through the program, but I am hoping all goes well.

For the poster... I too served two tours and have served for 8years. There are still things that gross me out. Stop making excuses and own up to the comment you posted. :))

LOL @ thank you nursing gods.

During the summer semester I found myself SOOO frustrated with some of the ladies in my classes (who all have 3 full semesters left) talking about their CNA jobs. They would say they left the woman on the toilet because they knew she'd have to go again in 30 minutes or say things to the affect of "I shouldn't be doing CNA work anymore, I'm ready to be an RN." or "I don't want to do CNA skills at clinical." Personally, even if I felt that way, I would keep it a secret--especially in my nursing classroom, you never who is listening and it just sounds really snotty and almost elitist.

I would have probably coached him through it, but I must say-I wish I was a fly on the wall! Lol!
