Hi, just wanted to pass along to those of you who may not be familiar with the ''...Made Incredibly Easy" series of nursing books. I have IV Therapy Made Incredibly Easy, Fluids & Electrolytes, Dosage Calculations and Nursing Procedures. All have been immensely helpful to me. They explain in clear cut language what everything is, have adorable little cartoons in the side margins, and great tips. Sometimes those 800 page texts are just too much to digest at 11:00 p.m. when you're blind from fatigue and trying to make something click. Springhouse Publishers puts them out -- I got a lot of mine on half.com -- just type in Made Incredibly Easy on the search and you'll get a slew of titles. Hope they help!!

Sounds great to me. Anything to make all this studying a little easier.

My ABSOLUTE favorite in school, as well as my real-life nursing lifesaver, is Acid-Base, Fluids, and Electrolytes. This is a fantastic book on a very hard subject. :)

Me too !!! Dosage Caculations was FABULOUS !!! Really made it soooooo much easier to comprehend and RETAIN ! Same as Electrolytes. These books are a MUST HAVE... do yourselves a favor and get them ! The above were the only two I used, but I'm sooooooo glad I did !
I personally have not used A&P, only because I had already taken A&P I and II way before I was a nursing major (changed majors) and didn't know that they were available.

It's really funny to see this post because my nursing instructor in drug calc. class last night was just saying the same thing.
She said that she isn't one to make students buy a ton of books and that she's not into the "Dummies" series of books but the "Incredibly Easy Series" for Nurses is really great. Our School even has the First Year Students buy "Assessment Made Incredibly Easy". Although I haven't picked it up yet I heard it makes Assessment a ton easier to understand and remember.
Has anyone ever picked up "RN Notes"? It's a small note card size bound book that you can keep in your pocket. Heard it is also really good to have too.

A real good when is the CD-ROM for Med/Surg. Its a game. It asks you questions and if you get the answer wrong it gives you the rationales. I think the price is 34.95 on amazon.com

I just graduated and let me tell you what I found the most helpful...the nursing made INSANELY easy series by Sylvia Rayfield...she also does NCLEX reviews....she has one for pharmacology and one for general nursing, plus a review book....she walks you through everything you need to know and especially for the NCLEX. She uses mnemonic devices, acronyms, and pictures to help you remember all the important information, meds, drug/lab values, and body systems...it is absolutely wonderful and completely easy to read through in no time. I definately reccomend checking it out!
