MA looking to achieve BSN

Published

I am an Medical assistant who has just recieved my associates in pre-nursing. i plan on starting a CNA program and then working 2 jobs as a MA and CNA till application comes around for the BSN program.

Another option would be to become an LPN and then pursue the BSN.. I am confused as to which route to take.

If you're goal is a BSN, go into that right away. There is nothing wrong with the LPN but many LPN to RN programs have long wait list. In my area is 7 years or more.

I would work as a CNA rather than MA AND, if you plan on going back for your BSN, I would just work and take all of the prerequisites towards nursing and go straight for RN BUT, if you find that it is difficult to get into an RN program, than going the LPN to RN route is an easier way to do so. I had a difficult time getting into an RN program and I have all of my prerequisites so I am taking the LPN to RN route and so are a lot of other people in PA, goodluck
