I think excelsior only does RN to BSN.

Excelsior College offers both 2 and 4 year RN degrees.

Specializes in LTC and MED-SURG.

Check Yahoo groups. They have a number of groups for Excelsior students and you can get more info about the Excelsior program from some of the subscribed students. And yes they do have associate's and bachelor's RN programs.

:coollook:

Thanks for the advice!!

And you would be wrong, Nurse_Ben. Excelsior offers an ADN program (two types), a BSN program, and an MSN program, all fully accredited by the state of New York and the NLN. It has 34,000 students, 17,000 of which are nursing students. They graduate (my estimate only) up to 250 nurses every month. (Yes, month.)

However, OP, you are in California, and your state's BON has determined that although you cannot graduate from Excelsior without demonstrating your clinical ability in a much more intensive manner than any traditional school requires (I just did it, thank you, and it was a major bear), Excelsior grads don't meet the licensing requirements for your state.

So, unless you are close to a border and intend to practice on the other side of it, you probably best look elsewhere, until the political forces swing the other way and they change their minds again. (Sorry....)

Actually, since Excelsior allows students to work at their own pace, your "2 and 4 year degree" can be done in a few months or stretched out over several years.

Consequently, one might tend to think of them as the ADN or the BSN or the MSN......

I know. I've earned both my ASN and BSN degrees at USNY, Regents College.

Should I go straight for my BSN or just my ADN?? How long did it take you to finish? Thanks again for the advice.
