LVN to BSN through the College Network

Published

Has anyone had a positive experience with The College Network in California?

I am an Excelsior student currently pursing my RN, I will let you know what I have learned so far in this experience. Unless I am wrong, Calfornia DOES NOT accept the Excelsior degree for RN because of lacking the clinical hours. The College Network is NOT a school. They do NOT issue degrees!! They provide material for other online courses like Excelsior and others( I think). I signed up with the college network, shelled out over 3 grand just to find out that I could have saved that. If you go through Excelsior they tell you the recommended reading material. I am pursing my ASN not my BSN but I wanted to share my experience. Check with the BON to find out about the BSN. Good Luck and I hope this helps some.:nurse:

The College Network is a publishing company that provides study guides for the Excelsior College nursing program and the ISU nursing program. Excelsior College nursing degrees have not been accepted for licensing in CA since December 2003 (except on a case by case basis after the person obtains paid nursing employment in another state). The study modules for the ISU LVN to BSN program in CA can be obtained from ISU students or the ISU student can take the tests without using the TCN study modules at all. So, a person can save a lot of money by doing either nursing program without bothering with TCN at all. That is the best positive outcome.
