lvn to adn or bsn

Published

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site and I am from the bay area. I took my 4 pre-reqs for the ADN nursing program at Cabrillo. Since the Cabrillo wait list is no longer open I decided the best route would be to get my LVN and then try to do advanced placement in ADN programs in the bay area or a LVN to BSN program. I know the advanced placement at Cabrillo is by a spot by spot basis. I looked into Unitek in Fremont and will be starting their prerequisites in late June. I took a study session for the prerequisites about a month ago at their Fremont campus and the teachers were awesome! I know they are accredited by the ACCSC but not by the WASC (which is expensive..) and are on the California RN website. I know since I took my prerequisites at Cabrillo those credits can be transferred if I decide to do the advanced placement there. But my concern is finding other options besides Cabrillo. Do any of you know a LVN to ADN or BSN program that will accept credits from trade schools? I know for sure I don't want to do my RN or BSN through United because I prefer to get my final degree from a regionally accredited school versus a nationally accredited one. Thanks :)
