Lurie Childrens Questions

Hi everyone! I just started nursing school and have been researching many hospitals I dream of working in. Obvious choice: Lurie Children's in Chicago. I know how extremely competitive it is to get an interview or job offer from there and I was wondering for those of you who did get either - what type of qualifications did you have? Did you have a ton of volunteer/work experience? I'm trying to get a head start on building my resume so I stand a chance! I want to work in the Oncology unit. I'd love some feedback and appreciate any helpful responses!

As a pediatric manager in Chicago don't forget about the other institutions that you could apply for. There are several other hospitals in Chicago that have pediatric oncology as well. University of Illinois-Chicago, Rush University Medical Center, and University of Chicago to name a few.

It may be helpful to join the society of pediatric nurses...we have a chicagoland chapter.
