Has anyone done this type of assignment? I want to go back to Southwest FL. Who did you sign on with and why?

The only LTAC I know of is in Sarasota.... I work there and no travelers are currently being used... that said. 18 week contract pool rates are $36.00/hour days, regular pool $32/hour and FTE s (1st day benefits) $27-30/ hour days... pt ratios ..days 3 or 4-1 (goal) and 4-5 on nights (goal) new manager and DON are filling gaps with local agency ($34) sooo not so bad....:D

Pt ratios 3or4 to 1 !!! Long Term Care ?? That's pretty unheard of. Really?? Sign me up!! Wow....guess I better do research and find this company. Thank you!

Yes. However, ACLS is required and many of your patients are acutely ill. Long term acute care hospital.... vents, telemetry. Most of our patients are resp fail s/p something,,,cabg, abdominal surgery etc etc......... and complicated wounds........

Also FYI it is HealthSouth RIDGELAKE LTAC Hospital near I-75 and Bee Ridge Lake Sarasota area if you are looking for rentals... range 750 -800 for 2/1 duplex and 1000 and up for 3/2....good luck and welcome to paradise

The Hospital is Healthsouth RIdgelake Long Term Acute Care... Rents for housing in Lake Sarasota (Moments away) are 750 - 800 for 2/1 duplexes and 1000 and up for 3/2. Some nurses commute from North Port, Venice and Bradenton b/c the hospital is just off 1-75...Welcome to Paradise!!

didnt mean to repeat myself...first post took a long time. Idid not think it went through ....anyway :twocents:

Have done vents though it has been awhile and in the LTC facility where I did this there was no Respiratory staff present if anything went wrong....had a vent malfunction in the middle of the night!

But....most LTC nurses are not ACLS because we are not attatched to hospitals and I am not.....you are right about Paradise though and I want to be able to enjoy it some (and soon) Thank you for your response. Much appreciated!

We have full time respiratory therapists 24/7 for vents and treatments...ACLS is required for Ridgelake...and sometimes we have pts on labetolol, diprivan and frequently cardizem.... we send out to SMH for cat scans and some procedures....
