Don't know, but suspect it's higher than average.

Each year, the Bureau of Labor Statistics publishes an Occupational Outlook Handbook with information for various professions, including RNs. They publish wage data, so you can see what RNs and LVNs make in different geographical areas. It's also broken down by specialty. Unfortunately, I don't think it differentiates what a new grad makes, but you can probably look at the lower end of the spectrum for that information :)
Go to: Registered Nurses
This will take you to an overview. From there, you can click on data for MD or you can click to search for a specific metropolitan area, e.g. D.C.
It's a fun site to poke around in!

I know I am in a different country, but we are relatively close and it seems with CAD to USD conversions salaries from the northern states are very similar to ours. I will be starting at $29.36 base pay as a new grad RN in LTC (if I get the job!) I live in southeast Ontario literally on the NY border.
