I'm applying to LSU for the traditional BSN. I'm beginning to think LSU may suit me as a student better than Charity.
I like that the one extra year has more emphasis on critical care than CSN and LSU seems to break down each topic more. I understand more bookwork is definitly involved but I think I may like that, the added theory.
I have completed A&P 1 & 2 and abnormal psychology... all of lsu's other prer's.
LSU said they will pass me for anatomy but I will have to retake physiology... ok...sure..?
So first semester I am left with only 7 hours.. intro to nursing (2) and phys (5)... and they won't let me take any second semester courses to be full time...
They said I will have to take courses at UNO but... then I may not be full time for federal aid? And why the hell won't I be full time if I'm taking 7 hrs at LSU and 6 at UNO? That's stupid IMHO!!!! I don't understand finaid rules like that... is this true? Found nada on studentaid.gov and waiting on the director of finaid to return my email... hoping and crossing fingers he can assist! :bowingpur
I'm really kind of annoyed they won't let me take a second semester course and are making me retake physiology. The board of regents ought to regulate this more so the schools are more on the same page and less nit picky as they please.
Has anyone else received passing for physiology or is this a new rule?
What else can I expect from LSU?

I graduated from the CARE program in May of 2008 from LSU SON. To get into CARE you must have a degree and many people had taken A&P I and II through other schools and were given credit for anatomy but not physiology. I think the reasoning is that A&P is super in-depth. The tests are hard but you learn so much and the teachers are great. Also, go to the classes, you get points in the end for going to class and answering questions...I don't remember how many points they gave, but I do know that I missed out because I was bored in class...Moral of the story, go to class! The anatomy part is excellent though so if you could take it, I would. You actually get to cut on a cadaver (spelled wrong?) and it's so interesting. The class itself is fairly easy but rather boring but I learned a lot from the lab. Good luck!
