Stressed out

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

So, I am currently living in Georgia and working for the DOD as an LPN in the emergency room. I had plans of applying to the bridge program at Albany State/Darton now, for the semester that's beginning Fall of 2018. I completed all my prerequisites - this program would've have been fantastic for me, because I work 12 hour shifts, 14 days per month and having to attend only ONE day of class per week would fit my schedule.

Now, we receive word that we are to be moved to Virginia - surprise to us, because this should have been my husband's last duty station. I've been looking at the schools there and while I've found some bridge programs, so far I haven't found anything that's even remotely like the Albany State program - is there one?

It's looking like I won't get lucky with my scheduling in VA either, as most jobs are Monday - Friday.. "stressed" doesn't even begin to explain how I am feeling. Selling a house that we only bought because we were sure we were staying here, finding work somewhere else and trying to find a bridge program whose prerequisites match what I've already got!

Does anyone have any information that I haven't yet stumbled across?

Thanks,

juju

I'm sorry to hear this frustrating news.

I'm not in that area of the US so cannot offer any advice on that.

But, keep researching. Is it possible to work every other weekend or something. Or per diem?

Hopefully, you will find something that will work for your life.

Good luck.
