I have a problem I hope someone will be able to help me with. I'm currently taking the prerequisites for the RN program but I was wondering if it might be better to start as an LVN and then bridge to an RN program. I don't have a lot of clinical experience, and thought that this path might be the way to go. I would appreciate anyone's thoughts or experiences on this subject!! Thanks!

I suggest that you continue on the path to an RN. You will get the clinical experience at school. What Rns and Lvns do are different. Being an LVN first will not necessarily make you a better RN. I am in my last semester of a BSN program. I have never worked in a hospital. My program offers extra clinical classes as an elective, this helpedc me a lot to gain skills and confidence. Go for what it is that you want to do. The school is equiped to teach you to be an RN.

I think you should keep on the track for your RN degree. I have spoken to many people who chose to go the other way and years later are still LVN's. Just stick it out it will be woth it in the long run.
