Hi, I'm Tiffany and I just enrolled in Excelsior RN program 12/07 and I have to take the new nursing exams. Do anyone know if they are similar or different to the old Nursing Concept exams. I have been a LPN for 8 months now and I work on the Med-Surg floor of an LTAC hospital in Michigan. If anyone have info on the new exams and just Excelsior's program in general please let me know. THANKS!!!

Specializes in My first yr. as a LVN!.

Im Julie just graduated Nov 07 from LVN school. I have just 3 science pre- reqs to do this yr. before I enter the LVN-RN bridge program which is only 8 mths long and I will begin that Aug 09. I have already 5 yrs in healthcare as a Certfied Med Asst and Licensed Phlebotomist. I have worked many areas and currently right now jobless while awaiting NCLEX. I will plan to work SNF for the time being until I enter the RN portion and after that I would like to work ER/OR or for a Plastic Surgeon. Here in CA it is extremely tough getting a job as a new grad even as a LVN. Its almost as if CA looks down upon LVNs--sad. So I plan to pay off all debt from March 08-Aug 09 ..cant wait to be a RN. Im a single mom to my 14 yr old daughter and originally moved out here to CA from Colorado in 94'.

That is great that you have decided to do the bridge program. That is one of the reasons I decided to do the RN. I don't think LPN'S get the same respect. But good luck in you endeavors.:up:

howdy, i am a married 33 year-old mother of four, ages 16, 10, 5 and 3. i have been an lvn for almost 15 years and almost decided to let my license lapse. i've taken the last few years off to be a full time mommy and wasn't sure i wanted to go back to the hard work for little pay job. i finally made the decision two days ago to call rue and start the lvn to adn study. i am waiting for my first shipment of books and i am very nervous but really excited too! this is a great site and i know i will be on it alot:) good luck to everyone!!

Welcome Tx LVN. Best wishes with your studies. I am sure your family is proud of you. Kudo's to you.:up:

Hi all,

I'm Laine, new grad Aug 2007 and a 2nd career 55 y.o. who applied for both Rn & LVN programs, but the RN was full, so that's why I'm LVN. I've applied for the Rn Bridge at CTC Killeen & taking Microbiology this semester (ugh!).

If anyone has words of encouragement getting through Micro, send them this way!
