Hondros College LPN to RN 2013 no prereqs required!

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

I had a heck of a time finding an LPN to RN program here in Cali. I kept searching and found Hondros in Ohio. It's about 20,000 compared to 68,000 program I found here. It's only 18 months. I'm thinking this is TOO good to be true. I welcome your comments. Does Michigan have any fast track RN schools?

I will be graduating from Hondros (westerville) in Sept 2013 from the RN program I also completed my LPN there. As far as the price I currently pay a little over $30,000 for the RN program alone and no they do not require pre reqs however the general education classes needed are included in the program such as Algebra Intro, 1, & 2, Ethics, English, Sociaology, and Psychology all of which are offered online (psych can be taken in class).

The program is 18 mo and for the most part I like it, I think every school has its flaws. Ive spoke with many nurses from other schools and they all have similar complaints (lack of clinical experience like starting IVs etc, lack of clinical sites which is d/t the fact that Ohio has an over abundance of nursing schools).

I had no problems sitting for my LPN boards at all and as someone else mentioned they are accredited by the OBON but NOT the NLNAC or CCRNE which I have heard is not really looked for when applying for jobs. Right now I have heard of our students being hired at all the major hospitals in Columbus EXCEPT for The Ohio State University Medical Center D/t them requiring these accredidations.

All in all I think you will be ok in the program just remember no school is perfect! Havent heard any complaints or compliments towards Fairborn! HTH

Thank you My4angels! That helps alot!!!

I do have another question though. Is it fast paced? I am planning on working 36 hrs per week is it doable?

I was going to apply at Hondoros however, i needed evening classes so I applied at fortis college.

hi I was wondering if anyone is currently attending hondros? I am an lpn in MI/Oh but live in MI. I have been struggling finding a program with pre-reqs being expired now well most of them "5 yrs". I do not want to retake classes... so does this school have a limit? and is it a decent program im willing to move anywhere as my parents are very supportive! If anyone has any advice i would really appreciate it as its very hard and stressful!

Hondros is 18months and it includes per reqs. Contact them directly for expiration dates.

Hondros will not accept anything 5 years or greater. All of my prereq's are greater than 5 years so, I have to retake everything
