Published

Does anyone know of a good online or program in the Orlando Fl area for LPN to RN? Most I am seeing have a ton of prereqs and I dont want to spend 3 years getting my RN while I am an LPN.

thanks a million for your help. This is my first post here so if this is in the wrong spot let me know.

hi...at one point, i contemplated going for my rn and didn't want to be bogged down with all of the pre-reqs. i found this place in brandon, about 10 miles from tampa, fl. you could check to see if there is a program like this in the orlando area. it is a 15 month bridge program and all of the pre-reqs are incorporated into the program.

Take a look at this forum Distance Learning for Nursing - Nursing for Nurses

And take a look under the Florida Nursing Programs forum.

Isn't there a Concorde Career college in the Orlando area? I know they have a bridge program, all the pre-req's are incorporated into it. Good Luck!

Hey you can try valencia community college. Its in the heart of Orlando, and i believe it takes a year to complete your RN once your an LPN but of course the pre-reqs are not included. You would have to take those separately :( sorry

I'm going to Pratt Community College in Pratt, KS and it's all online except for 3 days a week for 6 weeks at the end of the semester. So we have 36 days of clinicals for the whole program! They always group the 3 days together or I know that some of the people from california stay the whole time and rent a value place hotel room.

You can check Herzing University in Winter Park, FL. They now have a bridge program and all pre-reqs are incorporated.

Good luck with your search!

Hi I am doing Excelsior online. It's a great program. You must be self directed and able to pay as you go.

There is strong support from the facilty and other students.

Hey I'm new to this website and I am about to start my Lpn class soon. I am planning ahead and already looking into Lpn to rn online classes and came across Pratt. My current gpa is only 2.2 in the nursing pre req but I am currently in 2 of the pre req classes and I still have 2 more to go. I did get a A or B in A&P and was wanting to know from any current students any advice they would give me to increase my chances on getting into the program. I also wanted to know other current students overall gpa's and teas scores.

I think that they would accept you with that gpa without an issue. As long as you have your prereqs complete you will probably be accepted. I know that a few students had the minimum teas score and were still accepted. They don't have a waitlist so as long as your prereqs are done then you will be accepted at least that has been the case for the last few years with them. HTH. Don't purchase your books through the book store they are very expensive there. I suggest using barnes and noble or a local textbook store that can find used books.

how many points did you have on the selection criteria and what was your gpa?
