online program. Please give me the "lowdown". I've gotten the info from the school, and spoke with someone through email, but please, I need some first hand opinions. My questions for you are: How's it going? How far along are you? Has anyone graduated? If so, how was it finding employment with a degree from this program? How did you arrange clinical time? How does your state feel about endorsing your license? Is it worth while?

Thanx for your input. I'm finishing up all my core classes at local colleges and universities and I am applying to their nursing programs, but if I'm told that it will be 2+ years before I get in then- uh,uh- I plan to go this route. Oh, I'm an LPN pursuing my BSN...just alittle background. Thank you!

I just read your message. Are you now pursuing your RN/BSN through Indiana State, online? I just signed with The College Network to test out of my prereqs. Then, I'll be enrolling w/ ISU online. Any advice for me?

Thank you!

I read your post and I too just signed up with TCN for the BSN. I would like to hear what your experience so far is. I feel excited and nervous a little overwhelmed.

Well, so far, 2 of my coworkers(lpn) are going the same route I am going with TCN and ISU. In fact, one of these nurses is the reason I signed up. I have 2 other LPN friends who are using TCN to get their associate RN through Exelsior. I really didn't want to have to attend the 2.5 day weekend of clinical hell at Excelsior. I'd rather do more bookwork and do the preceptorship to get my BSN instead.. As we go farther into this program, I'll post updates, so you can kind of get a heads up as to where you're heading! Have you tested out of any of your prereqs yet?

Nope I have not tested out yet. I just started to tackle my first module.:sofahider

it is my understanding that you don't have to go through TCN to attend ISU program. To avoid those fees I've been doing all my core without them.

I'm considering either EC or ISU. I will be living in Indiana upon the time of completion of the program and think it may look better as a known state college than EC. I really don't think I want to go through the clinical weekend as well. It just seems like ISU has a lot of clinical hours in there. But I guess it is a BSN program. I wonder if anyone has graduated yet from the online courses....

Good luck everyone!

I am still waiting for my info from them. Hmmm....

Hi,

I am currently working towards enrolling in ISU. I am testing out of all the classes I can at present. You do not need to go through TCN for anything until you get to Phase 2. All of the tests are either CLEP's, DSST's or ECE. (Excelsior College Exams). I have completed the follwing so far:

A&P, Micro, Pathopys, English Comp, Intro to Sociology, Intro to Psych,Lifespan Dev Psych. I will be testing out of Gerontology and Analyzing and Interpreting Literature next month. I am working full time in a fast paced Outpatient Dept in a small rural hospital. This is a perfect way for me to go back to school. All is at your own pace!!

As far as TCN, I would much rather own a textbook than a study guide.

P.S. EBay has TCN study guides on there all the time. I also buy all my textbooks on EBay as well. There is also a website called Instacert to help you study. Check it out!!

Hey jamangel. What have you been up to? How far along are you with your core classes? I haven't looked at ISU in a while. I've been trying to concentrate on getting these core classes knocked out. I'm shooting for Georgia State or West GA for next fall. Two tuff programs, but if I can make it I'll be so proud. If all else fails I'll turn my attention back to ISU. Still have a ways to go.
