Hello Everyone,
I am taking a LPN to RN Bridge Course this summer. It is the hardest class I have ever taken. We are learning content that is normally given in 6 weeks and for us, it is given in 2 weeks! I am getting frustrated because no matter how hard I study, I am not getting the grade to reflect my knowledge. Any advice from anyone who has done this program before? I know each bridge program is different. I currently have a 72% test average and we need a 75% test average to pass.
I think my biggest problem is I need to work on my test taking skills. I will get it down to 2 and choose the wrong one. Sooo frustrated...

U should use the ATI practice tests. Do two every day.
Make practice tests for urself using the notes and book material.
Do more practice tests.
Get a study group.
Take more practice tests.
Learn a chapter well and teach it to another peer.
Take more practice tests!
Ppl are telling me that my hospital experience is giving me a strong advantage. In a few ways it is true; the real difference is I take ATI practice tests repeatedly! This allows me to choose the correct answer after I've narrowed it down to two.
Oh! The worst thing u can do is over study, btw. There are tons of ppl in my class that are over studying like mad and barely passing bc of it. Be general!!! Nursing is about being a generalist. Just get the basics!!!

I have to agree with using the ATI tests to study, but I would also recommend using the books. They really give you good information for Nursing Considerations for specific diseases and various other things. I just finished my first semester of an LPN to RN program, where we entered the second year of the Regular RN program. It was extremely difficult. I had a 3.4ish gpa in my PN program and i barely passed this first semester. 14 out 40 people failed out.
Thank you! I do like ATI online test but there are only 1 to 2 test offered for each topic. Do you take the same test over and over?
Are there any other practice test you can suggest?
Yeah, I take the same tests repeatedly until I understand every "hint" and every rationale for and against each topic.
I do the practice end chapter questions in the ATI books and I create practice tests for my peers and study group.
Passed the transition course! Phew! OMG! That course was soooo hard! Just have to finish up clinical and I will officially be an RN student! It has taken me forever to get to this point. I only got my LPN because I kept getting rejected into the RN program. So glad I got accepted into the bridge and now I have passed it!
