Hey all,
I searched for answers but I'd like to know if I should go for my LPN and then RN or straight to an RN based on my grades and experience.
So my grades aren't the best, I have a 3.6 in Chem, 3.9 in Cell Bio, 3.4 in Micro, and I am retaking Anatomy (Received 3.1 before and doing better this time) and just have phys to take next quarter. I am currently looking for a CNA job as I recently completed my state test and I volunteer at a hospital in the ER.
I don't think I am very competitive and I am just nervous that I will be trying to get into an RN program for a long time. This is why I have just recently considered starting with an LPN license and going after my RN afterward. I have worked very hard on my classes thus far, but I also work and I am planning on working very little, or none if i can once i get into a program.
I am located in Seattle
What do you guys think? I appreciate any words of advice.

If you were just starting out in your pre-reqs, I'd recommend LPN. But with all those pre-reqs under your belt, go for the RN program! I think the LPN program works best for those who don't have any college credit and need to be working as an LPN in order to fund their way through RN school (that was my strategy, anyhow)! Your grades are still good. Shop around for RN program options, just keep them in the public or non-ridiculous-loan range.

I agree. Go for RN with all of those pre reqs. I did vocational LPN program. I have to start from scratch with pre reqs at CCRI cause nothing I did "counts" but I CAN test out of nuring 1010 and 1020 which makes my program shorter by a year once accepted and after finishing pre reqs.
Thanks for the info guys!

Mike I am in the Seattle area as well and am entering Highlines ADN program in January.
With the exception of your A&P scores, my grades were very similar. Have you taken the TEAS yet? Admissions to many of the schools weigh heavily on your score. At least a lot of the CC in the area.

Why would you even think you're under qualified? You have volunteer hours and a high GPA.
What are the requirements for the schools you're applying to??? Do you not meet them?
