Hello fellow LPN's!. I'm a new member on this website. I have a story for you...
Has anyone here applied or been accepted to an LPN to RN ADN bridge program in Missouri - specifically the Kansas City-St. Joseph area? Anyone know of any awesome programs?
You see, I believe myself to be an intelligent person. I'm a junior at Missouri Western State College and had majored in English Journalism and minored in Business Administration. However, I got sick of it. I decided a career change was in order in 2002 when I entered an LPN program (17 months night and weekend program).
And I've posted all of this as a preface to the fact that I was not accepted into Park University bridge program in Kansas City. I was SO sure that I'd get in. I mean, my test scores were pretty good (so I thought) - except my OB and Peds weren't exceptional. I guess that's what kept me from getting in.
I'm really just wanting input and suggestions because I'm ready to become an RN - for several reasons. I just don't want to have to take 1-2 more years of school just to be eligible to apply to the other bridge programs in the area. Thanks for reading!

Welcome to allnurses.com!
I moved your post to the MO State Forum. There is also an LPN to RN Forum at: https://allnurses.com/forums/f233/ . Why not check that out, too?

I am in St Joseph and have been looking for a bridge program as well. There is a program at the Tech School in Maryville, MO that only takes 9 months, but you do have to have your prereqs done to get in. You also have take entrance exams and score well. I have done everything but take the exams and I may take them next fall/winter. The program only starts once each year and I've run out of time to be ready for this fall's start date. You might look into it. It's an outreach program thru North Central Missouri College. ANd if you need funding hte hospital in St Joe ahs a program to pay for it!

Sorry -- not familiar with that side of the state!! I know we have at least one here on the St. Louis side with the St. Louis Community Colleges, and possibly Jefferson Community College.
Best of luck!

You May want to try Missouri Northwest in Maryville. They have a bridge over program so i' am told. A lot of people are doing it online so i would look at that as well. It might be cheaper. And if your really not a driver in bad weather online is best you can keep your job and go to school on your own time. And i think Heartland in St. Joe will let you do your clinical's there. But always call to ask first. I hope this helped.

I believe Missouri Northwestern only has a rn-bsn program online, not for lpns unfortunately. There aren't enough good lpn-bsn options around here.
