Wow...this is going to hurt...most hospitals are not hiring LPNs in Miami Dade County...and if they are the pay rate is the lowest offered in most cases.

The pay rate is quite low for LPNs in comparison to the cost of living here. Nursing homes are your best bet if you want a decent pay check...or perhaps an agency if you don't need to work often. The agency rates are quite similar to nursing home rates...the difference is probably only about 1 dollar in favor of the agency. Of course, depending on your experience; I'm speaking in reference to an LPN with no more than 3 years of experience like myself.

I am referring to the highest paying jobs...if you're not concerned about pay scale...;) ...there's Psych, corrections (might pay well but mainly depends on company though), Hospice...most of these positions don't pay high salaries.

I hope you find what you're looking for...:monkeydance:

try calling a Agency, if you r in the miami area call All medical personal at 305-670-2292 I heard LPNs start as much as 24.00 an hour temping and temp to perm. Also try UM. Website is : miami.edu go to medical and then careers, lpns there start 22.00 hr.

I would refer to you to move through any of the consultancy and it will fetch you the right job and also miami.edu has a careers link where also you can try for it.

hospitals= no no for LPN's

but if that where you desire to be employed, look expect to earn a salary of $13-$15 bucks.

I have friends that just graduate school one of them is making $18.75 thats her full time job at a long term care facility she gets benefits and all. the drawback is she takes care of 20 patients at night(yeah that right 20) i said to myself that crazy and too much but from what i heard that the norm the give them when you work at LTC.

she also as another job she gets paid $30/hr...no lie thats my best friend she showed me her paycheck too. she got this thru the agency with no benefits. they pay her for 4hrs a day but usally she otta there in 21/2 hr. all she does is give the man his meds in the mrng, have breakfast with him(he has a personal cook) then take a walk with him to the poolside so he can get some mrng excercise. she is blessed and the agency has more openings like that too she says. too bad i cant land one of those (not a nurse yet).

the guy she works for is filty rich and treats her like his daughter. there is money to be made being a LPN, just not in the hospital.

with this economy make the money you can now!

Good luck in your decision
