I am planning on attending an LPN program starting next semester, and I've been looking at various job boards to kind of get an idea about what sort of opportunities there are after graduation. I have also been looking at RN job opportunities as well because I was planning on enrolling in a bridge program at a school in the area I would like to work in.
However, after looking at the types of facilities that hire LPNs in comparison to RNs it seems as if there are more jobs for RNs in hospitals, but for LPNs everywhere else. I think I may want to work at a hospital for a time being, but I think it would be cool to get a variety of experience in a lot of different places, and choosing a long term career in a LTC facility, Urgent Care Clinic, or Government facility.
So, I'm thinking now that it may just be better to get my LPN, if this is my long term goal?
So, my question is to current Nurses. What do you all think?
Also, are there any ways to advance/increase pay as an LPN, with different types of certifications?

I worked as an LPN for a little more than four years before earning my RN license. As an RN I complete essentially the same tasks as my LPN counterparts, but earn almost twice as much ($36/hr as opposed to $19/hr).
There's nothing wrong with making a career out of working as an LPN. However, the larger paycheck is important to me, so I decided to not remain an LPN.
Thank you: )
but are there a lot of jobs in the same types of facilities for lpns and rns?
