I just graduated 3 weeks ago and I am scheduled to sit for the NCLEX on the 23rd of this month. I am looking around at jobs and noticing that there aren't nearly as many as there seemed to be 2 years ago when I enrolled in school. So now I am getting pretty nervous. I am wondering if anyone can give me some realistic insight into how the job market is for LPNs right now. I know as a new grad I will not have my pick of tons of dream jobs. I am just nervous about getting a job at all, or it taking a very long time. I currently work one day a week as a counselor in a mental health facility and I have been considering taking on full time hours again to get me by until I find a job. My husband thinks I am freaking out for no reason and that I shouldn't take a full time position. He is sure I will be working as a nurse soon. I am hoping he is right but I am just not sure. So I am just looking for any personal stories about new grad LPNs and their job searches. Any stories would be appreciated, the good, the bad whatever you have.
Thanks!

well first I really think it matters where you are located, lol.because some areas still utilize LPNs and some do not.

I am also a new LPN grad. I am located in Indiana. I graduated mid December, and passed NCLEX-PN on Jan. 19th. I also thought there were not as many LPN job posting's as there were a few years ago. However, I applied for many jobs, and just accepted a job offer this week.
