What to bring on the first day of class

I start LPN school on August 20, only about a week away! I am wondering what to bring to class. All my acceptance letter said was to come to class in full uniform (scrubs & white shoes) and to bring one book (Intro to Healthcare Workers). Do I need to bring my stethoscope? Laptop? Other books (I have 12 total)? What do I need to bring? Lol help!

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

I'd say bring what told plus a notebook & pen, probably a folder in case they have handouts for policies, syllabus, etc.

Depends on your program whether laptops are permitted or discouraged. (My class had small desks and very few outlets so laptops were more of a hazard than a help and strongly discouraged. They were prohibited if they had recording capabilities)

I'd only bring the book they told you to, if you are concerned and wish to bring all of your books leave them in your car so if needed you can run out and get them but is likely that you won't need some of the books until later in the school year (such as specialty text books for pediatrics, mental health, etc)

Good luck and enjoy your first day of nursing school!

I personally don't prefer to bring my laptop to class anyway; I'd rather write out notes. Thank you for your input! I am excited and nervous about school.
