LPN schools...I need one for this Fall!

Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

Hello everyone :)

I am graduating from University with a bachelors degree next week. I really want to get into nursing ASAP! I realize that because of my G.P.A (2.9), it is unlikely I will get into any BSN or even ASN programs (please correct me if I'm wrong!) I am willing to take out a loan for any school that may accept me.

I suppose the wisest choice would be to get an LPN degree and go from there. Now I just need to find a program that is starting soon and one that I can get into. So please, if you know of any programs I can look into, I would truly appreciate it. I don't really care where the program is, but prefer something in the NY state area. Just any program that I can get into for Fall 2010.

My GPA is 2.9 and I have taken anatomy I/lab, microbio, intro psych, dev psych, social psych, precalc.

Thank you in advance for any help or advice you can give!

what state r u n? 2.9 does not automaically cut u out for adn in ca. its just really impacted here. GOOD LUCK!!!!:redpinkhe

have u tried looking into some schools in nj?????? I live in ny and some of the schools i looked into have long waiting list ......nj has lots of lpn programs that start every 2-3 month without long waiting lists.....you probably wouldn't even have to move out of ny!!!! i encourage you to do a little research call up a couple of schools to see as far as distance, tuition cost etc, which one would be best for you!!!! Good luck in your search!!!! i'm sure you'll find something soon!!!!:up::up:

i would definetly look in your area. California board of nursing for rn or look at the bvnpt website for lvn. all schools are listed there.:)

I would like to add something to the discussion. I was accepted to an LPN program for this upcoming fall 2010 semester, and we had to apply far far in advance. With this being said, I doubt you could easily find a school right now that would accept you for fall, as chances are high they have already formed the class and had orientation.

We had orientation yesterday, and we had to turn in our health forms for vaccinations and physical exam, as well as our FBI background checks that take 2-4 months to complete. All of this had to be done before classes started, as a side note.

It depends on what school you are going to. In CA most of the lvn schools are private and you are constantly accepted as long as you pass the entrance exam and pass through financial services. It is more costly this way but you don't have to wait forever to get in. I am sure it is the same in other states for private schools:nurse:

GOOD LUCK:up:
