Hello Everyone,

I know that I am getting back to you late and I am sorry . I want to thank all of you for your input to my previous post. After much thought and consideration I have decided to apply to Stone Academy's LPN program Located in CT. I will be taking the pre-admissions exam on next Tuesday Please say a prayer for me that I pass the test. I have been studying for the Accuplacer Assessment test since this past Tuesday. Well enough babbling I will get to the point. I would like to know has anyone gone to or know of anyone who has attend Stone Academy? How did they like or didn't not like the school. What I would like to know should I stick with Stone Academy or look into Lincoln Tech and Porter Chester. I look forward to hearing from you about my question(s) .

I am glad I saw your post. I literally registered just to comment. I live in CT and I live less than 2 miles away from Stone Academy in West Haven. DO NOT GO TO STONE. I am verrrry serious. For one they are NOT an accredited program, second many facilities do not want Stone doing clinicals at their site because the school has bad rep. I was about to take their accuplacer but they do NOT care about your education. Yes all of these programs is about taking your money but the level of care and competence in staff varies immensely. Porter and Chester Ive heard good things from and their students have come to my daily job for clinicals and they seem to know what they are doing. I go to Lincoln Tech in Shelton and it has its shortcomings but is very tolerable. I am halfway done with mod 2. P.s people who graduate from stone have a hard time gaining work experience post-graduation

Hi. Jeantilien1

First, I would like to thank you for answering my post as to whether or not I should attend Stone Academy. I was set to take their pre-admission exam on this Tuesday. I thought that they were accredited, are you sure it isn't ?. I have a friend whose daughter went there at the East Hartford campus and she thought that The school was ok, now I do not know what I should do. Maybe I'll look into Lincoln Tech and Porter Chester or just see if the state programs open back up. I was told that there should be in formation in April about the state LPN programs. I really hope that they open back up.

No they are not accredited now. Don't waste your money and time. I recommend Lincoln or porter. State schools are also good but timing is key for admission. They are selective as well. If you have college credits in the past 6 years any applicable will apply to the trade schools.

Hello Jeantilien 1

I am taking your advice about Stone Academy East Hartford. Though because I had previously signed up to take the Accuplacer test I went ahead and took it this evening and I passed it. Matter a fact I did very well I surprised myself. while I was waiting to take the test I was able to speak with some of the students regarding the LPN program. I was dismayed to find out that the school was thinking about suspending the child/maternal clinical rotation. I also found out from another student that she had been in the program for a year and her clinicals were only in LTC facilities. And that the school had only four clinical sites. I am going to call the school tomorrow to find out exactly where they have their clinicals. Next Tuesday I have a appointment with Porter & Chester Inst. Rocky Hill. And next Thursday I have a appointment with Lincoln Tech New Britain. Would you be able to tell me about the admissions process to both Porter & Chester and Lincoln Tech. What test do these two schools as part of the admissions process? Accuplacer,Teas ect.. When I called Lincoln Tech to set up an appointment with them I found that the gentleman I was talking to was a little to aggressive with me. When I told him that I wasn't prepared to start school until October due to finances. It seemed like he did not want to here that it was like he wanted me to start with the next class. I am also hoping to hear about the status of the state LPN programs schools this month. I have 40 college credits that I hopefully could apply to A.I. Prince Tech LPN program.
