Has Any One Taken The Teas Test?

I would like to know if anyone has taken the teas test. Also I would like to know what book did you study from any info that you might have.:uhoh21:

Yes I was curious if we get to use a calc? Also why 1 1/2 min per question? I figured its timed but I have NEVER taken a test where time was a concern. Is your time really that constricted? Or better yet how long for how many questions?

I can't recall if the calculator was available in the accessories tab of the computer, but it really wasn't needed. I think I was given a pencil and sheet of paper though. Please don't worry, I know the questions are different from test to test, but it is very basic math. There were a few problems that gave a few checkbook debits and credits, and you just give the balance.

The time allowed for each section is very ample to answer the questions. The minute-and-a-half rule of thumb is just to help you if you get stumped and insure you don't waste a lot of time on one question. You can skip a question and go back, but I chose not to because I thought I would screw up the test, which was pure superstition on my part. If you are in a room with other people taking the test and you hear a lot of fast clicking, don't be dismayed, because no one is usually working on the same section. For me, the math was last part of the test and I was so tired at that point I think I was actually dozing off, which caused me to run out of time. I didn't even notice the time remaining box until the last section of the test, but it was not a frenzied type of test, not the monster that I had envisioned. I heard horror stories of people flunking and over-studied myself into near hysteria. Believe me, I am no brain trust, but it was so much easier than I had imagined. Please let us know how you do. Soon you will look back and laugh at your needless fears. Wish I could remember more details but please post if you have any other questions.

The official ATI teas test manual sample questions were insanely difficult and nothing like the actual test test, very basic math and I don't recall any geometry. I unhappily paid twenty bucks I think to take two practice teas tests from ati, they were much easier than the manual depictions but I scored borderline which made me even more nervous! The official test was much easier than the online test, so please don't let it get you down. It had been nearly 35 years since I had been in school and I still tested in the mid 80's. Save all your stress for your program, LOL

The ATI book was much more difficult that the actual TEAS test, I skimmed GED books for my own peace of mind...don't worry, it's not difficult.

I think a 30-day period is required at my school, your's may be different

I had mine today and worked so hard on the math, and it was not to bad. I got a good grade with it. I did the reading test, and got a 90 on two parts and a 70 on the other. I have to have 80 on every thing, so I have to retake the reading. I have never had any issue with reading, but I worked on math and did not study the other at all

i just took the TEAS and it was not bad. I have the official ATI study guide if anyone wants to buy it off me. I scored a 91.2.

go over the differences between standard and metric units. ie. if x amount milliliters is greater than x amount in oz.

I started studying with it, and took the practice exam... I noticed its quite different from testprepreview, similar to what JessiBoop said... However, no one really commented on this, so I would still love to see an answer!

I did read above that "the official ATI teas test manual sample questions were insanely difficult and nothing like the actual test", however, this is not what I heard from my friends who took the ATI TEAS (and didn't get the score they needed for their potential nursing programs...)

Any other views on this?

I also read in my school email about this TEAS Coaching Program that's being launched, apparently by some previous nursing students who want to help wannabe nurses, over at www.TEASpractice.com but I`m not sure if I can afford it and/or can get a spot.

PS. Smanzor88, I would have to wait a minimum of 6 weeks before retesting.

Well now there is an updated version of the TEAS test. The purple study guide with the girl in front of the computer is the "old" 3.4 version. The new one is yellow with an Asian boy on the cover --this one is the TEAS V. Its said to be much harder than the 3.4 version. If you go to atitesting.com, you'll see more info on it.

I took the Teas and passed. My school sold a study guide for $40 but it wasnt that much help.

it is beneficial to ask your school which version of the test you'll be taking.
