Hi, I am from middle Tennessee and was just wondering if there was anyone here going through Excelsior. I am thinking about starting in January.

I live in NC am doing excelsior. I was a travel nurse and have just moved back home to finish school. I am only working parttime and doing home study through Excelsior during the week. So far, they have been very helpful, though expensive. Good luck!:uhoh3:

I'm in Tennessee and I've applied to the Excelsior RN program, but I haven't started yet. I'm having trouble confirming that TN accepts it. Did you confirm with TN BON before starting?

I am from NC. I'm pretty sure that Tennessee accepts Excelsior. Call the college and check with their office of BON. I know CA does not at this time.

I'm from Massachusetts, I'm taking the Excelsor courses. My understanding is that is you pass the NCLEX it doesn't matter wether your in a class room or at home.

That's true. I am also with Excelsior. Good luck to you! ;)

Does anyone know if Oregon excepts it? Can you get finacial aid to go through that program?

I am in Excelsior's LPN-RN program as well. It is my understanding that most states DO accept Excelsior to sit for the NCLEX. California, to my knowledge, is the only state that doesn't accept anyone from Excelsior, hands down. Georgia doesn't allow you to take the NCLEX there if you have graduated from Excelsior BUT, you can take the NCLEX and get a license through another state, and get a Georgia RN license through reciprocity. There are other states that have little stipulations and things such as that, which can be accessed through the Excelsior website.

I am from Florida and I am doing the Excelsior program. I only have Micro and the CPNE left. I plan on filling out my CPNE application this week so I can get a date!!

Hi! Tennessee does except Excelsior. My husband and I just moved to TN the beginning of Feb 2007. I work for NHC and several LPN's are working on their RN through Excelsior. One nurse is now a RN, passed her CPNE and state boards.
