i'm going to restart school this summer in a practical nursing programme which should take about 18 months :lol2: i'll be doing my prereqs this summer, fall and spring quarters and the next summer and fall i'll be doing clinicals

Hello, I'm one of the "want to attend" guys. I'm taking my prereq's, and then will look forward to waiting. LOL.

Hi I am a wanna be also. I have 2 more weeks with my last AP pre req, so far I have a 99 average in that class yahoo. I can apply to our pn program in the fall to attend the spring semester if I get in. Its very competitive in my area to get into either of the nursing programs but I think a stand a slightly better chance with the pn program then the RN. They do not allow you to apply until all pre reqs are 1 semester out, I finish this spring but can't apply until the fall for the following spring semester so it takes a long time! There are only 12 spots and she said typically about 100 lpn applicants and about 250 Rn applicants. So my plan being apply for the pn while finishing up my last 4 sciences for rn program, then work as an lpn until I get into an Rn program. We shall see how it all pans out but that is my plan right now. Hopefully I will get excepted right away into pn like I said its very competitive but I have 4.0 on all my pre reqs so hoping that will help me, we have no waiting list you have to reaply aknew every semester, they take the first 10 on their grades then lottery the 2nd two spots.

hi

I'm in my last quarter of a 7 quarter program here in Columbus, OH.

-only 4 more weeks, we graduate on June 9 ! Yay! I'm so excited, especially since this quarter we finally are getting leadership experience and are performing all the care for a group of patients. Finally able to put everything together and starting to "feel like a nurse".

Such an exciting time, I'm so happy for everyone here.

pn student from ruston, louisiana will graduate in aug

I'm an LPN student and will be finishing up in July. It's been a long road since August and will be glad when it's over. I'll soon be starting my psy/ob/peds rotation and i'm so excited! Just finished my med-surg rotation and it was tough but I made it! Good luck everyone!

I'm from PA. I'll be attending an evening/weekend part time program starting next March. It is called Lenape Tech in Kittanning, PA.

I would like to eventually go on for my RN. However, we have 4 children (10, 6, 3 and 5 weeks), so I don't know how soon I will pursue that:)

I tried to get a "heads up" on the pharmacology part, so I took pharmacology calculations with ccconline. I loved that class. I don't feel so afraid of the nursing math now.

Congrats Marci, you sure will be busy!

I am still waiting to get into to a program but have 3 kids and not sure if I will go for my RN or not all of that is still up in the air but would ultimately like to do that. I used to work as a unit clerk in ICU and you would love love to work there as a nurse some day. My kids are 9, 7, 7 and I attend a community college in southern Ca, I don't have many choices around unfortunately so have to do with whats available so could be a while before I get in.

Cath & Marci....

welcome!!...

Cath, as long as you hold tight to your desire to become a Nurse...things WILL eventually work out!! I too don't have many choices school wise ( due to the Long waiting lists here) So I am taking another route...

I'm married, 2 kids and currently have to work full time ( and recently some OT too) Anyway all thiat will change once I begin school in October. I'm trying to plan now $$$, because I am going to have to travel almost 90+ miles round trip each day and the cost of gasoline worries me...Hopefully I will meet someone from my area and be able to work out something like sharing the cost or car-pooling etc...One thing I do know...is that it will all work out!!

Marci,..Congrats in starting school next march!! Having a family kinda makes it a little harder, but we CAN do it!!
