LPN/LVN first paycheck :)

I was reading an old post here on AN and it was basically stating what new nurses did with their very first check.

I thought it was a cool idea so I would like to see what some of the newer nurses have spent their very first check as a nurse on.

I was a new LVN in February 2006. I hadn't worked in more than a year, so I spent my first LVN paycheck on bills, work uniforms, a stethoscope, and a shelter dog.

Haven't gotten my first check yet but I plan on paying bills and getting new uniforms. With my externship, I did the same.

I know I paid some bills and I think I went crazy buying scrubs. Yeah, that was the beginning of my scrub hoarding.

Ha, now I work somewhere that I don't even need to wear scrubs.

I went out to eat and paid bills. Lol I think I bought new clothes too.

I didn't spend my first paycheck. I saved half of it, and waited until I got my second paycheck to pay bills.

I have not yet gotten my first paycheck, but when I do I plan to save the majority of it since I don't have any bills to pay just yet :)

I got my LPN in 2002. I worked in a hospital as a PRN PCT prior to getting my license. My pay as a FT (required for a year, not allowed to do PRN or pool first year) LPN was increased by a whopping $1.32 per hour. I didn't spend it on anything special. I joked about it with my family though...hey, now I can go to the movies😒...it doubled when I went pool 12 months later. That check I took my first vacation since high school.

I'm over this whole adult thing with bills and responsibilities. I want to go back to high school when my money from waitressing was spent on going out with friends and I had no real responsibilities other than school...😜

I started halfway through the workweek, so it was only half of a check, but.. I got a self-propelled lawn-mower.. We needed one because we were borrowing my sister's and it was terrible to get it back and fourth.. Also got the super-smash brother's game for the wii U.. and four gamecube controllers.. and that cool new adapter lol. I can't wait for the full one!!

I moved out of my mom and dads house and got myself a nice house for rent which was closer to my job! Also bought way too many scrubs at Forman Mills lol! And went a little crazy at Nordstrom's Rack :nailbiting:
