Well it would be nice to see what LVN wages are just in CA as the OP asked. I am from CA too and would like to know. Hopefully more LVN's in CA can post here?

hi guys. when i grad in 97 my first job was in telemetry in hemet-12 something an hour, don't remember the noc shift diff. when i left i worked in tele in palm desert-15 an hour. this was in 2001-not sure how much it has changed! i know the rn rate has skyrocketed in this area since i left-for new grad rns it went up like 5 or 6 bucks (my best friend just started this past jan). good luck to all of u! i had a very hard time finding work in a hosp-ltc isn't my cup of tea! it took me 6 months to find work, and i had to drive an hour and a half to get to the hosp. hope things are better there, but i know there nurse practice act is so tight that i don't see it changing much. it was weird to end up in ga and be expected to push iv meds and all...thank goodness for that drug book!!!

Specializes in Knuckle Dragging Nurse aka MTA.

nursing homes - $22/23 an hour

acute hospitals (if u can get into one)- vary from $19 - 24 /hr kaiser pays 24.

psych facilities -$15- 18/hr yes i said 15!!!!!

all northern california rates.

hi im an lvn in a long term care facility, i get paid 19.50 hr been in the facility for 3 years. it depends also what city you work in, the more you get closer to los angeles the higher the pay rate is. i am from southern california, my sister who lives in northern california gets paid a great deal more due to the high cost of living up north, she gets paid 27 dollars hr as a lvn tx nurse.
