LPNs in PA. What are there duties and limitations?

    Here is link to SBON web site and LPN licensure info. As a former LPN here, licensure is more restrictive than other states. IV therapy is very limited. LPN's are unable to routinely accept verbal orders etc.

    Allentown hospitals are fairly progessive and it is a nice area to live. Be sure to visit Dorney Park, amusement park. Philadelphia is only an hour away for sightseeing.

    L.P.N.s may not hang blood but can do double checks on the info with an R.N. They can not give I.V. push but can use a BARD pump or any pump that infuses in a short amt. of time. They may not draw off A-lines. Anything else you want to know???? I live and work in Allentown 20 years and am glad to help.
