Is there a difference in a LPN and a LVN

  1. I am always hearing LPN and LVN what is the difference.....?

    [FONT=Arial Narrow] LPN is for Practical nurse. This is used in all the states except in Texas and California They use LVN for Vocational nurse. I've been both. I was an LVN in Texas and had no problem transfering my license from LVN to LPN. Currently working MN and ND Personally I liked Vocational rather than Practical but I've learned it all the same, at this level. Hope this helped .

    I worked in New Mexico back in the late 60's, they were LVNs there too.
