Hospice

  1. Ok so this is embarrassing, but I got a DUI a few years ago. I was very young and stupid. I am now working in LTC. I have discovered I have a soft spot for Hospice. I cannot work for hospice can I? Not with a DUI on my record? Isn't that true? Don't they look at your driving record?

Actually I was in Nursing School when I got my DUI. The nursing board is aware of my DUI.

My agencies required a copy of my driver's license. They also wanted a copy of my car insurance, or for me to sign an affidavit stating that I had car insurance. One of my agencies dropped the requirement for info about my car insurance and stated they only needed that if my duties included driving for my pt. As long as you have a valid driver's license, and valid car insurance, and your board has not put any restrictions on your license to practice, you should have nothing to worry about. Good luck in getting the position you want.
