I'm a California LVN and I'm just browsing out of curiousity for LVN, I mean LPN jobs and positions in Las Vegas, NV. I've noticed some jobs say LPN II. I've never heard of an LVN II or LPN II. What is the difference between plain ol' LPN vs. LPN II? Also, can someone tell me where I can find information about LPN's scope of Practice in the state of Nevada? Thank you. :nurse:

above link for Nevada nursing practice both RN and LPN

hmm I am a level II LPN, what made me one,, IV certification, years of working in field, additional CEU's. I truly believe it is about proficiency in your practice and Certifications.

I was just reading and discovered LPN level II can take on charge/supervisory ( still under RN) responsiblity. There is a 30 hour LPN supervisory class which can be taken. This is used in nursing homes to assist with the supervising of CNA's. It is mandatory in the state of florida within 6 months of working in a LTC facility.

This link is for taking 30 hour LPN supervisory course at this time is costs $360.00.

Hope someone else has a better/more definitive answer on the differences of the levels.

In California, IV certification which you are qualified to get as soon as you pass the NCLEX. My school, Concorde, includes it in the cost of your tuition. Upon passing the NCLEX, you return to school for a three day course.
