Hi:
I recently moved here from Nebraska and am looking for an IV certification course in North Port, Port Charlotte, Venice, Englewood area. Any suggestions? I've tried calling Manatee CC but haven't been able to reach anyone.
Thanks
Pam J.

I know its quite a drive for you, but as a last resort, Orlando Tech offers a 34 hr online course, with the final 4 hrs completed in a classroom or workplace setting to demonstrate skills competency.

Good luck!

Try calling some of the LPN programs in your area. Most don't have a dedicated IV skills class in their programs and usually offer one or know where one is for their students to get after graduation. Even if you don't go to the schools you should be able to get into them because it is taught from an outside facility either on their campus or somewhere else.

Pam - call charlotte technical college. If they don't offer it, they will know who does. Push to speak to the nursing dept. The school operator gives incorrect info (she has been saying nursing program is full when applications haven't even been made available - that sort of silly stuff). Their number (can I put it here?) is 941 255 7500
Thanks, I actually got tired of the run around and emailed the Director of Health Services. She said their next program is in January 09, and I can't wait that long. So I ended up signing up for an online program from Orange County which then has a 4 hour clinical, hopefully it will work out.
