LPN can't find a job!?

Hey everyone! I graduated in April 2010 passed NCLEX in May 2010 and I have been working private duty since then. Well here I am with almost a year under my belt and I am currently looking for another job because there is no work with private duty in my area right now! I live in TN. I would absolutely love to go to a local hospital but all they want is RN's. Even starting to see this trend with the nursing homes. Is it just me or has anyone else had this problem. It is very frustrating that I just spent a year in nursing school and everyone telling me nursing was in high demand and I would NEVER have to worry about having a job and I am already without work and have almost exhausted all options for work in my area!!!! What is going on? Thanks for any feedback!!
