Hi everyone

I am new here but have been reading the threads posted and I would like to know where is the LPN course being offered in Maryland or District of Columbia.

I am interested in doing this program. Is there anyone who did this program recently and has anyone done this program at Harrison Center for Practical Nursing in D.C.

Thanks for reading my thread.

I haven't done that program but I do know it is the only accredited LPN school in DC. I just withdrew from a LPN program in DC that was horrible, so before you take the step make sure you do your research. I don't want you to go through what i went through.

Good Luck!

Thanks for your response. Do you care to say if that is the institution you were enrolled in.I am trying to get some feedback about this school. There is PG community college but it takes two years to complete.

Anymore input would be appreciated.

I dont mind at all VMT Education Center is the name of the school I went to.

If I can prevent someone from making the same mistake I did I'd tell the world.

Did you look into Howard Community College I hear they have an LPN program also.

Specializes in Med-Surge.

I'm currently attending Nursing School at Harford Community College. I'm in the RN program but they do offer a LPN program. You would take the first two semesters of nursing school and then the following summer take the courses for the LPN( The RN Students don't go to school in the summer). It's only one extra year for the RN program. Why not just go all the way? I've seen on this website that a lot of hopsitals are phasing out LPN's. Why restrict yourself to where you can work?

Has anyone has any information on these schools?

Are they accredited?

Hope someone can shed some light here.

Community College of Baltimore County- Dundalk Campus has a LPN program.

Thanks for your input. I live in Prince Georges County.

VMT - I heard from a teacher at NVCC was a good school. This teacher (does not teach nursing) is lacking though in the teaching department and a lot of students complain about her. She recommended that school though.

hi! i'm new to the site and state (md) as well and trying to get some info in regards to the community colleges as far as their rn programs or if i should consider a university. thanks!

I attend Frederick Community College and they have a great LPN program and RN. The LPN is 1 year (fall & spring semester and 6 weeks in the summer). It is very competitive (I hear most are) but they are very good and I have heard from clinical sites, the nurses think we are very well prepared for practice by our school.

CCBC Dundalk has a LPN course and its only a year long. thats the one im gonna try to get into next year.
