I'm scheduled to take the test on November 8. I'm using Kaplan now and even though I watched all the videos and read the e-book, I don't feel that I'm improving, especially when I'm getting see-saw scores on Q-bank. I'm doing the Q bank by topic and I'm getting 40-50%. I don't know what to do now.....

Hi,
I also took Kaplan to study for my NCLEX in Canada. I think it mostly focuses on how to answer practice questions. I think it's important to know the content as well. So I reviewed pathophysiology and reviewed the practice exams, researching information that was unfamiliar. And don't worry too much about the scores. My qbank average was 56% with a range from 43% to 73%. Good luck!!

Are you reviewing your questions after or just taking Q bank tests over and over? The good news is you still have plenty of time to get things in order. The hard part will be figuring out why you're only getting in the 40-50 range. The ebook, I'm sorry to say, is not particularly useful in terms of really getting a handle on a subject (I had such a mental block on actually holding on to the information). What I did while I was doing remediation for the question trainer exams was take what/why I missed a question and either review it in my textbooks or look it up on Medscape for further clarification. Also, after a while with the Q bank, I got burnt out. Make sure you're giving yourself a good break in between practice.
