So I've been lurking on this site for quite some time now, and decided to finally make an account since everyone seems super helpful. I'm a senior attending a rather prestigious university, a biology major/chem minor, with a 2.85 overall GPA and a 2.75 science GPA. I'll definitely raise this a tad by the end of this semester.
I desperately want to go the ABSN route somewhere in Colorado (really want Regis, I know it's a long shot), where my dad recently moved to.
My science prereqs are as follows:
Microbiology: currently taking
Anatomy/Phys 1/2 (6 credit course): B-
Anat/Phys 1 lab: B+
Anat/Phys 2 lab: A-
Regular prerequs:
Intro to Psych: C+
Developmental Psych: A
Sociology: A
Philosophy: C+
Stat: B
Nutrition: A
My desire to become a nurse came after I was struck by a hit/run drunk driver, and the nurses and CNAs were the ones who made the biggest impact in my recovery. I hate to blame my grades on the incident, but 5/6 of my professors at the time were not at all understanding. I was out of school for only a week after breaking 4 bones in my face, and 5 of them did not allow me to retake missed exams/quizzes/homework (hence the two C+ prereq grades in easy courses...)
I have 2,000+ hours working in an inpatient psychiatric hospital (overnights, doubles, holidays, you name it), so I'm already pretty used to the intensity of the nursing lifestyle. My floor is also particularly difficult, so I've become adapted to handling crises. I also have 300 volunteer hours at my local hospital, and am a member of my school's service fraternity.
Do I stand a chance with Regis? If not, what would be my best bet school-wise in CO?
Thank you all in advance for your advice!:)

I'm very sorry about your accident, it must have been an incredibly traumatic experience and I admire your desire to move on and make something wonderful of your life.
However, most schools I know (BSN or ADN) will not accept a GPA that low, no matter the reason for it. Especially with a B- in A&P. Any way you could retake that?

I definitely think you will need to retake some of those classes that you didn't get an A in. The other poster is correct in that schools will not overlook a GPA such as yours no matter what the story is (they hear many, many stories like yours). A B- in A&P is a red flag. I would definitely retake that to better show your grasping of the material because it's pretty paramount to nursing.
Most programs require a 3.0 minimum BUT the caveat being that very few students are accepted with the minimum GPA. You will find that most (or all) of the accepted students are much higher (3.5 or higher).
