to take a Texas RN and transfer to a Louisiana RN? I am going to school in Texas and live in louisiana because of the military.

You pay something like $100 to the louisiana state board of nursing (LSBN), submit your fingerprints, and are issued a LA license. it's pretty much a paperwork issue.
Now, you can hold licenses in more than one state. It might be a good idea to keep your TX license active, as many wished they had done after the hurricane. That way, if we ever have to evacuate for any extended length of time again, you won't have to wait weeks for your paperwork to be completed.
