Hello all on this thread....

I guess that I am in the same boat as all of you. I attempted (pre Katrina) to get early admission for Spring 06. After Katrina, I spoke with numerous people- who indicated that the program was "over booked". I had a hard time "swallowing" this because registration had not begun- so how could they know how full the program was going to be? I really think that they are greatly short staffed for the most part, and this will have a direct effect on the quality of the program.

Pre K, I went down to talk to Ms Galvin (nice lady) to get to the bottom of things... As someone has mentioned earlier in the thread, they messed up the info in my file as well. (this is a recurring problem there) I had to re-supply them with info and watched her place it in my file.

I was told that my application would come under review and that acceptance letters would be sent at the end of Dec. I see from the posts here that the timeframe is now January 23rd. I have all pre-reqs complete with the exception of anat lab 2, and my last math class (I will be taking both this semester). I have completed my shots. I was holding off on the CPR until I got further word.

I too live in Metairie (like CMUNST). I live off of Clearview. I hope that everyone is hanging in and doing well under the circumstances.

Please continue to share your updates.

thankyou

If you have the time to go to Charity you can request eary admission. My sister went there today and she requested early admission. She was told to write on a sheet of paper that she would like to be considered for early admission. They informed her that their are openings in Aprils class and as long as you have the needed documents you will be considered. If you have the resources I have the # of a lady who does CPR certification and you receive your certification the same day. Even if your accepted 2 major documents are needed 1)CPR certification 2)Student nurse liability you can obtain this info at www.nso.com it's student nurse profession liability. I am also enrolled but I'm taking online courses since classes @ Charity will begin in April. My online classes are beginnig Jan 14-May and Charity April-the end of July or the beginning of Aug. Then 2nd semester will begin Aug-Dec.I'm taking MICRO/AP 2 LEC.I took the AP 2 LAB durning the intersession. Let me know how you make out.

Yes, I did the same thing as your sister yesterday. I am just wondering how soon before I will hear anything. Do you have any idea?

Interesting info....

I wrote a letter of intent requesting early admission prior to the start of the last semester. I sent Ms Edgers an email to clarification on early admission and acceptance letters. I will update you all on her response. Did anyone give you any further info when you went down there? Did they tell you when or if you would hear something?

Awalker, where did you take the anat lab at? I took the the anat lecture online. They offered me the opportunity to take the lab during the mini- intersession. It was a quassi-class...you had to be nuts to take it. It was a lab a day. for 12 days. There were not giving any "breaks" for the time shortage to learn info... I don't believe anyone took it.

also, does anyone know what the overlap period of time would be from taking classes this semester as opposed to starting at charity in April (if I am ever so lucky?) Last day of class is May 1st, and I could find nothing posted on the website indicating when the April session would start.

Hello,

Please advise:

Now that registration is has been under way, is there any possibilty of early admission-April?

I have read blogs that indicate students are going downtown to request early admission on a sheet of paper. I did this prior to the start of last semester, and it was placed in my file. Is there a procedure to follow or is this just rumor? I also read that acceptance letters will be mailed on Jan 23rd. I have yet to hear anything. Can you confirm this is true? Your response is greatly appreciated.

I took the AP 2 lab @ the West Bank campus, the class was pretty accelerated. I did pretty well in the class,I received an A. Trust me I earned every bit of it. I would never do anything as Foolish as that again ,but I was pretty desprate and anxious to begin nursing school so I decided to take the class. I guess you can say that things worked out. Are you able to provide me with her email address? Thanks.

Who is Ms. Richie? "Don't believe what you read." The staff is giving false info to its students. More than 5 students reported back to me that they requested early admission and were told to request it by writting the needed info on a sheet of paper, and the info was then plaed in their file. I know that their overwhelmed but they need to be more professional with the way they handle bussiness. Please if you can provide me with the site or info to email Ms Egar or Ms Richie. Thanks, please keep me posted.
