hi, i'm hoping someone out there can give me some ideas or advice.
i live in southern california and no, there's no way i can move to another state:o i'm changing careers due to layoffs and finally pursuing a childhood dream. i have a bachelor's degree in business & management.
for the past 2 years, i've been trying to get the only 3 prerequesites classes i need to apply for an adn program which are anatomy, physiology & microbiology. in order to get a decent registration date, i've petitioned community colleges - and i've been declined. one of the reasons for my denial was "i've attended so many colleges already that i've had ample time to get my education."
i've applied at a private school for bsn that offers all the classes i need with no waitlist but after meeting with the finance counselor there is no way i can afford it - west coast university.
lastly, i'm on a waitlist for a private school for adn so it seems that all of my hopes are in this one school that gets hundreds of applicants and can only take 40 students.
i think if i don't get into this school that maybe i need to re-think my career choice. i'm so torn!!!! i just recently got a cna job and it feels so right working in the hospital, i just wish i could catch a break.
any suggestions?

I completely understand how you feel. I also live in Southern California and I think I applied to every possible community college in hopes of getting a registration date that would allow me to take A&P and Micro. Ultimately I found a school called the Southern California University of Health Sciences, and it was truly a blessing. They offer month-long courses in all the sciences you could possibly need, and I believe they always have openings. You can check out their website at http://www.integratedscienceprogram.com. I took A&P I and II and Micro this summer in only 3 months, and I just got accepted into a masters in nursing program. The only down side is that the classes are very expensive- $2,000 per class. BUT if you only need the 3 classes, it may be worth it. Hope this helps! Good luck!
Thank you HannahSoCal, this helps A LOT! Do you know if these classes are transferable to all schools?
The school is WASC accredited, which is the main accreditation that schools look for, so you shouldn't run into problems. However, I did a lot of research and discovered that there are two schools in So Cal that don't accept these classes (some have mixed ideas about really quick, intensive weekend classes) and those schools are Saddleback and Cal State Long Beach. Other than that, you should be good to go!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your help

Have you looked into taking pre-reqs online, like through edukan? That would get you started. GL!
Thank you so much, I've never heard of Edukan. I will definitely check it out.
